Santa Margarita, CA (September 9, 2023) On Thursday evening, a 33-year-old Bakersfield woman died, and a 10-year-old girl was hurt in a solo-car crash on SR 58.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 8:10 p.m. on State Route 58, near Parkhill Road.

Reports say that the woman was driving a westbound black Cadillac SRX, that veered off the road and overturned off an embankment.

Officials say that the crash killed the female driver while the young girl suffered minor injuries.

CHP is investigating the fatal crash and have not released further details at this time.
