Injuries Reported in Purcell Auto Accident near 3rd Avenue and Grand Avenue

PURCELL, MO (October 3, 2024) – Tuesday night, a disastrous single-vehicle crash near 3rd Avenue and Grand Avenue injured 1 person.

The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. near 3rd Avenue and Grand Avenue. 

Tri-Cities Fire, METS ambulance, and Jasper County Deputies all came to the scene. Meanwhile, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was also notified.

At the scene, authorities discovered a single-vehicle crash involving a southbound pickup truck on Grand Avenue. The vehicle had crossed the center line and overturned into a ditch on the east side of the road.

There were two occupants in the truck. One was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other declined medical attention. The crash is being investigated as a DWI incident, and the driver has been arrested.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
