RUSK, TX (January 31, 2024) – On Tuesday, a disastrous school bus crash near CR 2117 and CR 2116 injured two people.

The incident happened near the intersection of CR 2117 and CR 2116.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an SUV failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and collided with a Rusk ISD school bus.

Moreover, responders transported one student to Jacksonville Medical Center with unknown injuries. Then, paramedics airlifted the driver of the SUV to Tyler Hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
