MIDLAND, TX (March 26, 2025) – Monday, a 12-year-old boy sustained injuries in a disastrous pedestrian crash on 5600 Sherwood Drive.
The incident happened on 5600 Sherwood Drive near Fasten Elementary.
Midland Police stated that a 12-year-old boy was attempting to cross the street at 5600 Sherwood Drive where there was no crosswalk or crossing guard.
The child was racing another child to a vehicle in a parking lot when a Ford Expedition, unable to stop in time, struck him.
While initial reports suggested the child might be transported to Lubbock for further treatment, officials later decided to keep him at Midland Memorial Hospital.
