Lanes Blocked in Bakersfield Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 178 near Beale Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 19, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a disastrous multi-vehicle crash on Highway 178 near Beale Avenue led to injuries.

The incident happened at around 2:50 p.m. on Highway 178 near Beale Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involved at least three vehicles, including a white Acura SUV, a blue Toyota sedan, and a vehicle that rolled over during the crash.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped inside a vehicle. Also, authorities confirmed that minor injuries were sustained in the crash.

Meanwhile, the crash closed the number 1 and 2 lanes but has long since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
