Injuries Reported in Gun Barrel City Traffic Accident on 300 E Main Street

GUN BARREL CITY, TX (August 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a disastrous multi-vehicle crash on 300 E Main Street injured seven people.

The incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. in the 300 block of East Main Street.

According to Gun Barrel City Police Department, the incident involved two pickups, including a white Ford pickup truck, and a third vehicle.

Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated the Ford driver who was trapped inside the wreckage. Then, UT Health Air 1 airlifted the Ford driver to a hospital in Tyler with unknown injuries. Also, three ambulances transported a total of six patients to an area hospital with unknown degrees of injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed East Main Street for approximately one hour, but has long since reopened.

At this time, the cause of the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
