3 Horses Dead in Clear Lake Auto Accident on State Route 20 near Watertrough Road

CLEAR LAKE, CA (February 18, 2025) – Sunday night, a disastrous motorhome crash on State Route 20 near Watertrough Road led to injuries.

The incident happened at around 5:09 p.m. on State Route 20 near Watertrough Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a motorhome that was towing a horse trailer. Then, the force of the crash pushed the trailer down an embankment.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that minor injuries were sustained by the occupants of the motorhome. Also, officers said that three horses inside the trailer died in the crash.

Furthermore, the incident blocked eastbound Highway 20 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
