2 People Hurt in Schuyler County Auto Accident on Rising Sun Drive and Liberty Drive

SCHUYLER COUNTY, MO (April 2, 2025) – Monday morning, a disastrous garbage truck crash on Rising Sun Drive and Liberty Drive injured two people.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on Rising Sun Drive and Liberty Drive.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a garbage truck failed to make a turn due to equipment failure. Then, the truck continued to the south side of the roadway and rolled over.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the driver of the truck and a 34-year-old passenger of the vehicle both sustained moderate injuries and were both transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle.

Furthermore, officers said that both occupants of the truck were not wearing seatbelt at the time of the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Phoenix Police continued investigating the crash.
