Disastrous Fiery Crash on Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard Injures 5 [Danville, CA]

Injuries Reported in Danville Auto Accident on Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard

DANVILLE, CA (June 4, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a disastrous fiery crash on Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard injured 5 people.

The incident occurred just after 1:00 a.m. when a Danville police officer tried to stop a vehicle at Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard for running a red light.

Then, the driver failed to yield which caused the officer to start a pursuit, driving eastbound on Diablo Road and onto Blackhawk Road.

As the vehicle approached Camino Tassajara Road and Blackhawk Road, the vehicle failed to yield at another red light and crashed into another car.

As a result, the suspect vehicle overturned and landed on its roof until it eventually caught fire.

Officers rescued five people in the burning vehicle. Then, responders took them to a hospital. Also, the driver sustained major injuries.

Moreover, the two occupants of the second vehicle sustained no injuries in the crash.

At about noon, the authorities reopened Camino Tassajara at Crow Canyon Road in Danville.
