Dion Van Diermen Fatally Hurt in Huntington Beach Pedestrian Accident

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (April 22, 2019) – A 32-year-old man died after a pedestrian crash in Huntington Beach on Thursday, April 18.
 
The pedestrian, identified by the Orange County coroner’s office as Dion Van Diermen, of Huntington Beach, died at the scene.
 
Officers rushed to the scene at around 11:55 p.m. It appeared that the Toyota 4Runner traveled west on Atlanta Avenue west of the intersection with Schooner Lane. Then it struck the pedestrian in the westbound lanes of Atlanta, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
 
The driver, a minor, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police stated. It did not appear that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
