Diogo Zavalacardoso of Moss Beach Arrested in DUI Crash on 700 Cabrillo Highway [Pacifica, CA]

Pacifica, CA (December 19, 2023) On Saturday morning, police arrested 21-year-old Diogo Zavalacardoso of Moss Beach after a single-vehicle crash on Cabrillo Highway that sent a female passenger to the hospital.

According to the Pacifica Police Department (PPD), the DUI crash happened around 6 a.m. in the parking area near 700 Cabrillo Highway.

Officials say that police found a single-vehicle crashed, with damage from a recent collision, and 2 occupants unconcious inside.

Reports say that the vehicle crashed into several objects in the parking lot before stopping at the entrance to a pedestrian footpath.

Medics rendered aid to the involved party and transported the passenger to the hospital.

PPD identified the driver as Zavalacardoso, after going through a field soberiety test, the test determined Zavalacardoso was intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle at the time of the collision.

Authorities arrested and booked Zavalacardoso at the San Mateo County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle.

Police are investigating the DUI crash and have not released further information at this time.
