Two Killed and Two Injured in Possible Street Racing Accident on 3500 Block of West Adams Boulevard
LOS ANGELES (February 11, 2018) – Two cars crashed on Sunday night around 10:13 PM, in a possible street-racing accident on the 3500 block of West Adams Boulevard, resulting in two fatalities.
A silver Scion was traveling westbound on Adams Blvd at high speeds, when it lost control and crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic. It was then t-boned by a Tacoma truck, causing the Scion to flip onto its die.
18-year-old driver, Diego Portillo-Marquez, and 21-year-old passenger Nathaly Brizuela, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 21-year-old passenger in the silver car was critically injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The 44-year-old truck driver was hospitalized in fair condition.
Los Angeles Fire and Police officials arrived at the scene of the crash. The investigation is ongoing at this time; authorities believe that this accident may have been caused by possible street racing.
