9-Year-Old Diamond Bar Boy Flown to Hospital after Getting Struck by SUV

 
DIAMOND BAR, CA (April 25, 2018) – A pedestrian collision on Willow Heights Drive sent a 9-year-old boy to the hospital, early Wednesday evening.
 
According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective, the accident happened around 6 PM in a gated community in the 21100 block of Willow Heights Drive. A man from Diamond Bar was traveling along the street with a speed between 8 to 10 mph when the boy went down on their driveway on his scooter.
 
As the child approached the street, he unknowingly entered the path of the oncoming SUV.
 
The boy was flown to Diamond Bar High School, where the helicopter that airlifted him landed. He was then rushed to the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles where it was determined that he sustained a broken jaw and minor internal injuries. As per latest update, it was announced that the child is now in stable condition.
 
No arrest has been made as the investigation continues to figure out the possible causes of the collision. The identities of the people involved have not been released at this time.
