Devonte Tyler Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Avenue J-8

 
Lancaster, CA (November 26, 2020) – On Sunday, 27-year-old Devonte Tyler, a homeless man, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Avenue J-8.
 
The fatal crash happened at about 9:41 p.m. at the intersection with Sierra Highway in Lancaster.
 
A preliminary investigation indicated a woman was driving a mid-size sedan southbound on Sierra Highway. At the same time, Tyler entered the roadway at Avenue J-8.
 
The woman accidentally stuck Tyler. The driver stopped at the scene and immediately called 911.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics immediately responded to the scene. However, life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
 
Authorities pronounced Tyler dead at the scene at 9:50 P.M.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Though, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this case.
