1 Person Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 58 near Highway 202

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 19, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, a devastating wrong-way crash on Highway 58 near Highway 202 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:31 p.m. on Highway 58, west of Highway 202, near Tehachapi.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Jeep traveling in the eastbound lanes collided head-on with an eastbound Ram 1500.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the female driver of the Jeep died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Ram to Kern Medical Center with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
