1 Person Dead in Vallejo Auto Accident on Interstate 80 near American Canyon

VALLEJO, CA (March 24, 2025) – On Sunday, a devastating single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near American Canyon killed one person.

The incident happened on eastbound Interstate 80, east of American Canyon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle lost control and crashed for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash ejected the driver and right-front passenger of the vehicle into the roadway.

Moreover, paramedics airlifted the two male patients to a hospital for treatment. Then, officers confirmed that one of the patients, identified as a 19-year-old man, was later pronounced dead. Also, a 40-year-old man sustained major injuries in the incident.

Furthermore, authorities believe that speed played a role in the crash and that all other aspects, including DUI, are under investigation.

Meanwhile, the crash closed eastbound Interstate 80 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
