1 Dead in Otay Mesa Auto Accident on State Route 905 and Heritage Road

OTAY MESA, CA (June 25, 2024) – Monday night, a devastating rollover crash on State Route 905 and Heritage Road killed 1 person.

Reports said that the incident occurred at 12:03 a.m., when the BMW veered off the road, collided with a guardrail, and rolled multiple times down an embankment. First responders had to extricate both the driver and the passenger from the wrecked vehicle.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The CHP indicated that alcohol and drugs are not believed to have contributed to the crash, and traffic was unaffected. The identity of the passenger is being withheld until the family is notified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
