TRAVIS COUNTY, TX (September 1, 2024) – Thursday morning, a devastating pedestrian crash on 10100 US 290 killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 6:50 a.m. near 10100 block of US 290 between Dripping Springs and Oak Hill.

According to DPS, a vehicle heading westbound struck a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office reported that traffic was rerouted as the roadway was closed to allow for the investigation.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
