PHOENIX, AZ (May 16, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on US 60 near Val Vista Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 3:20 p.m. on eastbound US 60 near Val Vista Road.

According to reports, the motorcycle crashed into the rear end of another vehicle.

“The motorcyclist was ejected into the middle lanes of the highway and was run over by multiple vehicles, killing the motorcycle driver,” DPS added.

Moreover, DPS confirmed that all the drivers involved in the crash stayed at the scene.

Furthermore, the crash has shut down three lanes of US-60 eastbound in the area of the crash with the HOV lanes 1 and 2 being the only lanes open.

Also, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
