LONG BEACH, CA (September 10, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on 91 Freeway and Downey Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:32 p.m. on the westbound Riverside 91 Freeway at Downey Avenue.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Stephen Brandt, a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a black Dodge Charger and a gray Subaru.

Moreover, responders pronounced a female patient, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported one person to a trauma center with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, the crash blocked all westbound lanes of 91 Freeway at Lakewood Boulevard.
