1 Dead in Santa Cruz County Motorcycle Accident on Highway 129 and Murphy Road

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (May 30, 2023) – Sunday night, a devastating motorcycle crash on Highway 129 and Murphy Road killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 7:36 p.m. on Highway 129, just east of Murphy Road.

According to reports, a westbound 2009 Toyota Corolla struck a 54-year-old Hollister man riding a Harley Davidson on Highway 129 just east of Murphy Road.

As a result, the 54-year-old motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to Natividad Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers noted that both the driver and passenger of the Toyota Corolla wore their seatbelts during the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
