1 Dead in Fontana Single-Vehicle Accident on Foothill Boulevard and Ilex Street

FONTANA, CA (March 28, 2023) – Sunday night, a person died in a devastating crash on Foothill Boulevard and Ilex Street.

The incident happened at around 10:14 p.m. on Foothill Boulevard and Ilex Street.

According to Fontana Police Department, a driver headed east in a silver Ford Focus in the No. 2 lane on Foothill. However, the driver lost control and crashed into the raised center median several times.

As a result, the car rotated perpendicular to the road and went airborne over the center median.

Moreover, the Focus crashed with two palm trees and large rocks in the center median. Then, it came to rest on the passenger side.

Also, the driver failed wear to a seatbelt and was declared dead at the scene.

Moreover, responders took the passenger to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
