Fatality Reported in US 61 Vehicle Crash
Jefferson County, MO. (May 19, 2025) – A 22-year-old DeSoto man was killed in a Herky Horine Road motorcycle crash Saturday evening.
It was around 10:30 p.m. when the DeSoto man was driving his motorcycle southbound on US 61 in Pevely.
Troopers said the motorcyclist was speeding when he approached the intersection of Herky Horine Road.
During that time, a 67-year-old High Ridge man driving a Buick SUV was stopped on Herky Horine Road. He began making a left turn and failed to see the oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the left side of the Buick and the motorcyclist was ejected.
Responding officers declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
