2 Hurt in Bakersfield Pursuit on General Beale
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 2, 2019) – A Kern County Sheriff’s deputy suffered injuries after a pursuit accident on General Beale Road on September 29.
According to reports, the 8:00 p.m. incident happened when authorities responded to a call regarding a 51-year-old suicidal man.
The deputies found the man on the General Beale Road exit ramp near Highway 58 before he escaped in his vehicle.
Reports revealed that the man drove nearly one block before crashing head-on with a deputy’s patrol car.
The deputy and the man both went to Kern Medical with injuries. After that, authorities took the man into custody as he faces several felony charges. These charges include DUI and assault with a deadly weapon.
