3 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash at Downey Avenue and Ramona Street
BELLFLOWER, CA (July 23, 2019) – A deputy and two pedestrians suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Downey Avenue, Tuesday evening.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 9:00 PM. A deputy was on his way to assist another deputy who was detaining a man with a knife. A short time later, a vehicle pulled out in front of the deputy’s vehicle, causing a collision near Ramona Street.
The patrol vehicle then hit a parked car and ended up on a sidewalk, where it hit two pedestrians. Emergency responders transported the deputy and the two pedestrians to a local hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
