Demetriz Forte and Daughter Injured in Collision on Vernon Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (July 24, 2023) – On Thursday, 35-year-old Demetriz Forte and her 8-year-old daughter Kayleen Forte were injured in a hit-and-run collision on Vernon Avenue.

The two victims were walking home from the grocery store and crossing the intersection of Main Street in a crosswalk.

Apparently, a car had stopped for them to cross but the vehicle behind plowed into the car in front of it and a chain reaction happened, hitting Demetriz Forte and Kayleen Forte. Allegedly, both of the involved drivers fled the accident scene.

Demetriz incurred seven broken ribs and a broken pelvis while Kayleen sustained a broken collar bone and cuts all over her face.

In the meantime, the family created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses. 

“We want justice to see whoever did this come forward,” Demetria Forte, Demetriz’s sister said. “It’s a very bad experience. We lost Mom three months ago.”
