Debra Barber Killed in Deadly Lancaster DUI Car Accident

 
Lancaster, CA (November 27, 2020) – On Thursday, 65-year-old Debra Barber died, while her three passengers were hospitalized after a DUI crash on 20th Street East and Avenue J-8.
 
The sequence of events started at 7:21 p.m. on Sierra Highway and Avenue J.
 
Apparently, a woman driver crashed into a vehicle, and immediately fled the scene.
 
No one from the crashed vehicle was injured. However, the driver followed her and called the sheriff’s department.
 
Then, the woman missed a red light at 20th Street East and Avenue J-8 and broad-sided another vehicle.
 
The authorities pronounced Barber, the driver of the broad-sided vehicle, dead at the scene.
 
Rescuers transported her three passengers to a hospital near Lancaster.
 
The front-seat passenger sustained major head trauma and is in critical condition. Also, the two back-seat passengers suffered head injuries and are in serious but stable condition.
 
Meanwhile, the hit-and-run driver incurred minor injuries. Police arrested her on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
