Deborah Ann Geneau Dies, 1 Injured in Bakersfield Traffic Accident
Bakersfield, CA (July 23, 2020) – On Wednesday, 65-year-old Deborah Geneau died and another person was injured in a hit-and-run crash near Stockdale Highway and Don Hart Drive.
The tragic accident took place at around 1:09 p.m. near Cal State Bakersfield.
A vehicle moving west on Stockdale Highway swerved and crashed with at least two other cars. Then, one of the involved vehicles overturned and ended on top of another car that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The vehicle traveling east drove across the center divider and crashed. The fire rescue team and the paramedics pronounced its female driver, Ms. Geneau, dead at the scene.
Moreover, rescuers gave treatment to the driver of the vehicle that overturned. The victim sustained minor injuries due to impact.
Police said the driver who caused the incident fled the scene. The tragic accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
