Deanna Bowden Detained Following DUI Pedestrian Collision on Diablo Avenue at George Street
NOVATO, CA (June 4, 2019) – A pedestrian suffered significant injuries after being struck by a DUI driver on Diablo Avenue at George Street Thursday night.
According to police, the incident took place at 9:24 p.m. in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue. A 30-year-old Novato man suffered serious injuries when an alleged impaired driver struck him in a marked crosswalk.
Police noted that the vehicle had been traveling eastbound on Diablo Avenue at the time. As a result of the crash, the man suffered significant injuries and required surgery at a local hospital.
The Novato resident operating the vehicle – Deanna Bowden – remained at the scene. Police questioned the 29-year-old and determined that impairment played a role in the crash.
Soon after, police booked her into the Marin County Jail for felony driving under the influence causing injury.
