Dean Pilcher Dies in Overturned Truck Accident in Eureka
EUREKA, NV (May 16, 2019) – A 57-year-old man died in a truck accident at Gold Bar Mine along Gold Bar Road Monday morning.
According to Eureka County Undersheriff James Clark, Dean V. Pilcher of Eureka, Colo., died when the 50-ton ore hauler overturned at McEwen Mining Inc.’s Gold Bar project.
Clark further adds that the crash did not appear suspicious and no other injuries were reported.
Because details remain scant, the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration plans to investigate this deadly crash further.
In the investigation, authorities determined that the haul truck overturned at the site and Pilcher suffered fatal injuries.
Pilcher served as an employee of N.A. Degerstrom, which is contracted with McEwen Mining Inc. Reports did specify McEwen is working with investigators and local authorities to determine the events that happened.
We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dean Pilcher.
