Richland Hills, TX (November 29, 2024) On Thursday morning, a 21-year-old woman died while a 45-year-old man was seriously hurt in a wrong-way collision on Loop 820.

According to North Richland Hills police, the fatal crash happened at about 2:16 a.m. on the 7100 block of Loop 820.

Reports say that the wrong-way collision left a 21-year-old woman dead and a 45-year-old man critically injured.

Authorities say that the crash occurred at 2:16 a.m. in the eastbound toll lanes of the 7100 block of Loop 820.

Police say that the man was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes when his vehicle struck the woman’s car.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene, while the man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the woman’s identity and the cause of death after notifying her next of kin.

The North Richland Hills Police Traffic Investigation Unit is working to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
