Hawthorne, CA (May 05, 2025) Early Sunday morning, a person lost their life after a multi-vehicle traffic collision on Imperial Highway.

According to authorities, the deadly incident happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Imperial Highway.

Reports say that a driver allegedly ran a red light, then the westbound vehicle crossed the center median and collided with two other vehicles stopped at a traffic signal at Hawthorne Boulevard.

Three drivers were taken to the hospital, and one was pronounced dead around 8 a.m.

Authorities have not identified which driver died.

Police suspect the driver who ran the red light caused the collision, but it remains unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role.
