DESCANSO, CA (July 18, 2019) – A dead body was found on Highway 79, in a crashed vehicle Thursday afternoon on a backroad in Descanso.
 
CHP officers located the vehicle around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 79 at Japatul Valley Road, 24 hours after a witness reportedly saw evidence of a traffic collision.
 
The witness saw skid marks on the road at around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and told another person to call 911, investigators said. The witness called back on Thursday and told officers he could now see the truck.
 
Upon officers arrival, they confirmed a deceased body inside a white utility truck.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available.
 
Investigators are still working on the incident and urging other witnesses to come forward with information.
