55-Year-Old Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on South White Rock Road
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (May 23, 2018) – A woman was killed by a drunk driver in an accident on International Drive, on Wednesday night. She was later identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 55-year-old Daya Reddy of Rancho Cordova.
The DUI crash occurred sometime before 11:09 PM. Rancho Cordova received reports of a major vehicle collision near International Drive and South White Rock Road. Officers arrived to the scene and found two severely damaged cars and a man walking away from the crash.
He was detained and identified as a 41-year-old man of Stockton. Officers also found Reddy unconscious and not breathing inside one of the cars. Reddy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities determined that alcohol was a contributing factor in the rash, and the man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
