David Westhart Injured in DUI Car Crash on Highway 395 and Hildebrand Boulevard [Kennewick, WA]

David Westhart Hurt, Valery Melnikov Arrested in Kennewick Car Accident

KENNEWICK, WA (December 27, 2018) – A man sustained injuries following a DUI car accident on Highway 395 on December 21.

According to reports, 57-year-old Valery V. Melnikov of Everett was driving under the influence in a semi-truck. He failed to yield at a red light and hit another car at Hildebrand Boulevard.

Melnikov then struck 49-year-old David M. Westhart of Kennewick who was traveling west in a tan, 2003 Dodge Neon on Hildebrand Boulevard. As a result of the crash, the Dodge was totaled, and Westhart was taken to Trios Southridge after sustaining injuries.

Meanwhile, Melnikov faces charges on felony vehicular assault and felony hit and run. He was detained into Benton County jail at 10:38 p.m. Friday.
