Woman Killed, David Placencia Involved in Pedestrian Accident on Carpenter Road

 
West Modesto, CA (January 17, 2021) – On Friday, 63-year-old David Placencia of Modesto was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Carpenter Road.
 
Emergency responders received a vehicle versus pedestrian crash report at 10:47 p.m. south of State Route 132.
 
Apparently, Placencia was driving a Toyota Camry southbound at approximately 45 mph when he saw a woman standing in the middle of his lane.
 
Placencia said he was unable to stop in time and accidentally struck the woman head-on.
 
Unfortunately, authorities pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, CHP said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident. They did not arrest Placencia.
 
Police withheld the woman’s identity pending identification and family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP Modesto Area office requests any witnesses to contact them at 209-545-7440.
