David Lopez of Santa Maria Arrested in Highway 101 Head-On Crash [San Luis Obispo, CA]

San Luis Obispo, CA (March 28, 2022) – On Sunday, the authorities arrested 24-year-old David Lopez of Santa Maria in Highway 101 head-on crash injuring a 37-year-old Atascadero man.

The traffic incident took place minutes before 5:15 a.m. in the freeway’s southbound lanes south of TV Tower Road.

According to the investigators, David Lopez was northbound on a Dodge Challenger in the southbound lanes.

The Atascadero man saw the oncoming vehicle but did not have enough time to drive out of the way.

As a result, the front side of the Toyota 4Runner hit part of the Challenger.

Then, the 4Runner to spun and rolled multiple times and its driver sustained moderate injuries.
