Sylmar Man David Lopez Dead Following in Motorcycle Accident on Angeles Forest Highway

Palmdale, CA (November 2, 2020) – On Sunday, 53-year-old Sylmar resident David Lopez died in a tragic motorcycle crash on Angeles Forest Highway.

The Palmdale accident happened at about 1:15 p.m., south of Vincent View Road.

Apparently, 55-year-old Michael Deangelis of Littlerock was driving his 2007 Ford F-150 south on Angeles Forest Highway when he approached the motorcyclist.

For unknown reasons, Deangelis drove his truck to the left, onto the northbound lane, and struck the David Lopez head-on.

Both vehicles ended up on the shoulder.

The authorities pronounced the motorcyclist, Mr. Lopez, dead at the scene. They withheld his name pending notification of next of kin.

On the other hand, Deangelis sustained minor injuries. Rescuers took him to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the CHP declared a SigAlert around 2:10 p.m. for the death investigation. The road was cleared about 5:15 p.m. and the SigAlert was canceled.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Sweet Lawyers would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and community of David Lopez.

A Wrongful Death Case

“Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating a family for the loss of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve and heal, while their attorney works to build a strong case,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
