Gary Johnson Arrested Following DUI Crash, David Johnson Killed

 
Ferndale, CA (July 3, 2020)– Police arrested Gary Johnson for causing a deadly head-on collision on I-5 that killed David Johnson and injured Ilia Castrejon.
 
The tragic collision happened on July 1 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Slater Road.
 
Troopers received multiple reports of a wrong-way driver at about 8:15 p.m. According to the report, the driver was in a silver Lexus going southbound in the northbound lanes.
 
Responders arrived at the scene and found the wreckage of the collision.
 
The Lexus driver collided into a Camry and as a result, the passenger in the Lexus, David Johnson, died.
 
Furthermore, the Lexus driver, Gary Johnson, was unconscious and was transported to the hospital. Authorities said that the driver was in a critical condition.
 
Moreover, the Camry driver, Ilia Castrejon, was brought to the hospital; however, the severity of her injuries is unclear at this time.
