Darrle Woody Dies after Auto-Pedestrian Crash in Laveen Village

Phoenix, AZ (November 28, 2022) – Early Monday morning, 29-year-old Darrle Woody died in a crash in Laveen Village.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Phoenix happened around 3 a.m. on November 28 on Southern Avenue just east of the South Mountain Freeway.

Phoenix Police responded and found Woody unresponsive. He died at the crash scene.

The vehicle driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

Investigators said Woody was in the roadway when he was hit by a car heading westbound on Southern. 

Police don’t suspect impairment as a factor in the collision.

Further investigation into this deadly crash is ongoing.
