Darla Soto-Vargas Dies, Thomas Vargas Airlifted After Crash on Escondido Avenue in Hesperia

Hesperia, CA ( August 18, 2020) – On Friday, Darla Soto-Vargas of Victor Valley was one of the people killed in a three-vehicle collision on Escondido Avenue.

The Hesperia Police Department said the incident happened around 8:41 p.m on Escondido Avenue near Sultana Street. Reports said a GMC Yukon, a white Acura, and a Honda CRV  crashed due to unknown reasons.

Consequently, the Acura was split into two pieces, due to the force of the crash.

Rescuers pronounced Soto-Vargas dead at the scene. Meanwhile, responders took her husband, Thomas Vargas, and her daughter to a trauma center via helicopter.

Friends and family created a GoFundMe page to help for funeral and other medical expenses.

Furthermore, the driver of the Acura remains unidentified, died at the scene as well.  Additionally, authorities confirm the motorist inside the CRV is safe and unharmed.

Lastly, the Hesperia Police are still investigating the reason for the deadly collision.
