Danny Knowles Killed, Christopher Wade Arrested Following DUI Motorcycle Accident on Highway 510 Near 5 Freeway

LACEY, WA (April 11, 2019) – A 33-year-old man died Tuesday night in a DUI motorcycle crash along Highway 510 near the 5 Freeway.

State troopers say it wasn’t Danny Knowles whom authorities found was impaired but the driver who struck him.

Around 10:20 p.m., Christopher Wade hit the 33-year-old motorcyclist upon making a left turn onto a cross street. Knowles struck Wade’s eastbound red Mazda as he headed west in a blue Yamaha.

As a result, Knowles’ motorcycle traveled to the cross street while the Mazda came to a stop in the middle of the highway.

Soon after, authorities responded to the crash and found the cyclist with fatal injuries.

Inside the Mazda, an 8-year-old boy suffered a laceration and later sought treatment at a local hospital. Two other children were unharmed, as well as Wade, whom officers arrested on suspicion of DUI, vehicular assault, vehicular homicide and three counts of reckless endangerment.

This is terrible news for anyone who knew Danny Knowles. Our lawyers would like to send our heartfelt sympathies to all mourning this heartbreaking loss.
