Danilo Bansil Jr. Killed in Las Vegas Motorcycle Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 3, 2019) – A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after a crash in the northwest valley on Sunday, April 21.
At about 6:15 p.m., officers rushed to a report of a collision at West Lake Mead Boulevard and Lirio Way.
According to Metro police spokesman Lt. Mike Welch, a Nissan driven by a man in his 20s failed to yield while making a left turn onto Lirio Way. This caused a motorcyclist to crash into the passenger side of the Nissan.
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle. He was thrown off over a wall into an apartment complex, police said. Paramedics transported the rider to University Medical Center Trauma, but the medical staff pronounced him dead.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as 41-year-old Danilo Cunanan Bansil Jr., of Las Vegas.
Police added that the motorcyclist drove at a high rate of speed before it crashed into the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan had some minor injuries and didn’t show signs of impairment.
Authorities shut down the roads in the area while officers investigated the incident.
