Damond Lazenby Dies in Highway 4 Hit-and-Run Crash [Martinez, CA]

Martinez, CA (January 17, 2023) – On Monday, the CHP asked help in finding the driver who fatally struck Damond Lazenby on Highway 4.

According to the authorities, Damond Lazenby was reported missing on New Year’s Day. 

Then, seven days later, his body was located near the shoulder of eastbound freeway between Port Chicago Highway and Willow Pass Road in Contra Costa County.

Furthermore, officers think Lazenby was struck by a vehicle.

“The CHP believes Lazenby was struck by the right front portion of a vehicle, and the driver fled the scene. The vehicle is possibly a dark color sedan,” the CHP said.
