Damien McGee Injured in McHenry Avenue Rear-End Crash [Modesto, CA]

Modesto, CA (September 09, 2021) – On Tuesday, 43-year-old Damien McGee suffered injuries, while Clavey Carlson, a 25-year-old Modesto man, dies in a crash on McHenry Avenue.

The fatal crash took place at about  9:10 p.m. south of Kiernan Avenue.

Investigating officers said Carlson was southbound on a Subaru, approaching a van and trailer.

The Subaru rear-ended the trailer which broke free from the van. 

Then, the van continued in a southwesterly direction and left the roadway. Reports said it overturned at least once.

Moreover, officers said the Subaru also crashed into a utility pole and sheared it at the base.

Paramedics rushed Carlson to Doctors Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

On the other hand, McGee, the van driver suffered minor injuries.

Officers said speed appears to be a factor in the fatal accident.

The authorities are investigating if drugs or alcohol played a part in this accident.
