12-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck by Car near Dollar Tree on 300 Block of East Foothill Boulevard
POMONA, CA (September 3, 2018) – A young boy was killed Monday evening following a pedestrian crash on Foothill Boulevard. The victim was later identified as 12-year-old Damian Bonilla.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 8:00 PM, in the 300 block of East Foothill Boulevard. Damian was walking home with two friends after visiting a Dollar Tree store when he was struck by a car.
The victim sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Unfortunately, Damian succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No other injuries were reported by authorities.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the driver’s view may have been blocked by other cars on the street. It was also noted that there were no crosswalks in the area. Additional information was not available to the public, as investigators continue to look into the cause of the collision.
