Distracted Driver Crashes into Parked Vehicles near Peach Avenue

 
CLOVIS, CA (January 9, 2019) – Major damages were sustained Wednesday evening following a semi-truck crash on Ashlan Avenue.
 
According to the Clovis Police Department, the incident happened near Peach Avenue, at about 10:49 PM. A semi-truck crashed into five parked cars, sheared a fire hydrant, and collided with an apartment complex.
 
No injuries were sustained in the crash. The unidentified truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, but police say the collision was possibly caused by cell phone distraction. An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the accident and to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
