Six Vehicles Involved in Collision near Atherton Avenue

NOVATO, CA (February 1, 2019) – Damage was sustained in multi-vehicle crash on southbound Highway 101, Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 11:00 AM, near the Atherton Avenue off-ramp. Based on their report, there were six vehicles involved in the incident. The parties were identified as a lumber truck, a u-haul truck, a silver van and three other vehicles. The manner of the accident was not stated in the report.

One motorist was possibly trapped in one of the vehicles. The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. It was not confirmed if there were injuries sustained in the incident.

The Toyota Scion had moderate damage, while the commercial truck acquired rear-end damage. A clearing operation took place to prevent further disruption in the flow of traffic in the area. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation, and additional information will be disclosed to the public, once it becomes available.
