1 Person Dead in Sutter County Auto Accident on Riego Road and Pacific Avenue

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (October 5, 2023) – Tuesday night, Daljit Singh died in a tragic vehicle crash on Riego Road and Pacific Avenue.

The incident happened at around 7:00 p.m. between Riego Road and Pacific Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Nissan SUV struck the tracks of an excavator that was on the trailer of a Peterbilt (tractor-trailer combination). Then, the force of the crash pushed the Nissan into a ditch on the north shoulder of West Riego Road.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 72-year-old Nissan driver of Sacramento dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
