Police Investigate E-Bike Crash on Callens Road in Ventura

Ventura, CA (October 15, 2025) – A 44-year-old man riding an electric bicycle is in critical condition after a crash on Callens Road, according to the Ventura Police Department.

Just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist in the 1300 block of Callens Road.

Upon arrival, officers found the cyclist unconscious and suffering from severe injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital.

The 30-year-old driver involved in the crash remained on scene, offered aid, and cooperated with authorities. He was not injured.

Preliminary findings indicate the cyclist was traveling northbound on Callens Road when the driver, heading southbound, turned directly in front of him, violating the cyclist’s right of way.

Ventura Police are continuing their investigation and have asked any witnesses to contact Officer Alex Garcia at 805-339-4326.
